Hi - wicked podcast, chaps. A two points...
1: Batman and Robin has to be seen kids movie. I know this upsets everyone who wanted the movies to stay dark, but...they didn't. Goldman was taking the franchise in a different direction (PG-13 and, though I've not listened to the commentary yet, they had to be riffing on Adam West and Burt Ward...the credit carts were the 90s shark repellant or something). This isn't the direction that diehard fans wanted mind you, and everyone involved seems to agree it was a bit shite. If you're five, on the other hand, its a great piece of entertainment - my daughter loved it.
What concerns about Goldsman "rebooting" the Fantastic Four is that its already quite similar in tone to Batman & Robin in its ensemble/light-hearted/campy way, so I'm not sure what this would accomplish - why not a continuation?
2: Paul WS Anderson is not a cunt.
